fabric folding

Have you ever lost a fabric.  You know it's in your stash, but you can't locate it?
This recently happened to me and I find it irritating.

So I decided to fold my fabric and organzie the stash.
I checked around and found a few methods...Happy Zombie's method
and I found Jeni's method.
All great technique's, right?

Well, this is how far I got:

I thought I would start with a fun collection...Katie Jump Rope by Denyse Schmidt.  But I quickly realized there is no way Im going to stand around for hours and ...really, days and fold fabric.  I would rather sew...

So...as I go thru my stash looking for missing items I plan to add some things to my Etsy shop.  Maybe if I get rid of a few things...Ill find what Im looking for!  If you make a purchase, now or at anytime, leave me a note that you read my blog and Ill be sure to add some fun extras!

  1. Here's what you do ... Have a fabric folding party LOL. You sound like me - I could never find anything. The folding method takes forever - it took me three LONG days - but they are SO worth it. It's time well spent of you care to reconsider.....

  2. Have you considered the mini fabric bolts for organization? Then they sit on the shelf much like at a quilt shop and you can easily cut some off the bolt without having to re-fold. I organize my fabric that way and I will never go back to foliding! :)

  3. Oh yeah, I have definitely lost fabric. And I have found fabric I forgot I purchased. I would love to have a place to properly store all of mine. If you need a place to get rid of that Katie Jump Rope......:)
