Sophie's pillow

My sweet 10 year old niece just welcomed her 4th younger brother and for such a thing...she gets a makeover of her bedroom. She choose purple and green colors. I made this pillow using the tutorial at Tallgrass Prairie Studio. I will be giving this to her for Christmas. The tutorial was very easy to follow and I was excited to try it out.

I don't think this will be my last pillow. I like small projects!

Here is a picture of the back of the pillow using a Kaffe fabric that I do not remember buying.

  1. Lovely pillow! I especially like the little bits and pieces of Tina Givens fabric in the patchwork. I'm sure your niece will adore it! I made a pillow for my daughter for Christmas... just need to figure out how to quilt the top of it (I like the method you used here). I'm also going to attempt an invisible zipper (scary!).

As for the Hope Valley... no specific plans yet. What colorway/prints do you have and what are your plans with them? I saw a zigzag quilt that someone - can't remember who - did with a bunch of fat quarters and solids and it turned out lovely... maybe a wall hanging or something?

  2. Sophie's pillow is just lovely! I love your fabric choices! The kaffe "stencil" fabric on the back is perfect, I think!

  5. Love the split log cabin pillows. The block is always great for quilting bees.
