I am making progress on my quilt as you go log cabins. It has been really slow going though. I figure these blocks take me around an hour or two each to make. They are 14.5 inches, so big blocks...I think my next block will be a bright, cheery aqua or yellow.

I was admiring these in the Flickr group without realizing they were yours! I was thinking of making one of these quilts with the scraps from the Paintbox quilt-a-long (when I finish!) but 2 hours per block is intimidating... though they are big, and the quilting is done.
ReplyDeleteThey look great! Things like that take me forever - I think too long about each strip!
ReplyDeleteSO, I'm curios, do these already have the batting attached?
ReplyDeleteThey look great! I really like the owls!
They're really pretty! I'd have to agree though - they take a long time to make!
ReplyDeleteThe blocks look great! I can't say I'm surprised at the length of time they are taking using the quit as you go method. I know my 100 10-inch log cabin blocks each took 20-30 minutes to piece so I can kind of feel your pain, but not really. Can't wait to see it finished!
ReplyDeleteMmmm . . .yellow.
ReplyDeleteYes these blocks really do take time. One block is taking me 1 1/2 hours and thats not including picking out the fabrics strips to go together! Your blocks are looking great though. How many have you done so far?
ReplyDeleteJenny, Looking beautiful! Your lines are so straight!!! I have missed not dropping by and good to be back! Love to your fam and you, Em
ReplyDeleteI love that leaf fabric. Is that ikea?
ReplyDeletelooking good Jenny! How many blocks are you going to make for each of the quilts you're doing?
